Why Do Atheists Struggle So Much Against God Who Supposedly Doesn't Exist?
by Perry inan athist made this casual statememt on another thread:.
this would suggest to me that there are at least some atheists that do have consistant beliefs.. .
as an atheist, how could he possibly trust the reason that suggests this to himself?

Pretending to be someone's friend in hopes of tricking them into listening to your religious opinion is manipulative & sleazy.
If you have a valid point you wish to share, speak honestly and directly.

My problem with Original Sin
by leftbelow ini found this quote in a book i was reading and it struck me this is why original sin is a problem for me.. damnation is the start of your morality, destruction is its purpose, means and end.
your code begins by damning man as evil, then demands that he practice a good which it defines as impossible for him to practice.
it demands, as his first proof of virtue, that he accept his own depravity without proof.

Original Sin is just another concept of spirituality that teaches humans are evil.
You're easier to control if you reject your own mind and if you consider your own humanity a sin.

How to fade intelligently ?
by TheFadingAlbatros inhow to fade intelligently ?
tell me your secret and then i will tell you in due time my secret.
it's important when we have to face a manipulative cult with some members of our family trapped inside, yes it is important to know how to fade intelligently so that our jw family members are not going to shun us.

1) Start missing meetings.
2) Claim health problems & depression are the reason.
3) Never express your doubts or true feelings to a JW (they dont care and it wil make you a target).

Get Out. Get Away. Free Yourself. This is a Dangerous Cult. Nobody can help you but yourself.
by Jehovanomics inyou can measure the degree of passive aggressive control the jw's have over you by the degree to which you feel guilty when you stand up for yourself.
it's a multi billion dollar real estate corporation.
it's all about the money.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses Psycopaths?
by stuckinarut2 ini have been thinking that jws display an organizationally officially promoted form of thinking that makes them psycopaths!.
what i mean is, any person who enjoyed reading and leaning about past gruesome deaths, or who justified such things as being normal or acceptable would be deemed to be dangerous to society...a psychopath.
(by this i am refferring to the content of the bible of course).

Most of the rank & file may not be true born sociopaths, but they lack empathy and that is enough.
Does it really matter if its detachment disorder, moral exclusion, or a sociopath? Its harmful and should be avoided.
It's safer and healthier to avoid anyone who demonstrates a lack of basic humanity.
In the last Hall I attended, I met nicest, sweetest lady you could imagine. Then I found out she had shunned her teenage son when he had doubts about the religion, he committed suicide shortly afterward. He wasn’t mentally ill, just honest, intelligent, and questioning. She didn’t even attend his funeral and the congregation proudly supported that decision. That is unnatural & cruel. I want no part of any group where that thinking is acceptable & encouraged.

If an individual chooses to harm or ignore the welfare of others, that person lacks empathy and a conscience. Whatever their official diagnosis, they're an unhealthy person.
Their abusive behavior is not excused by their religion, their parents, or the rules they follow. To care or not care is a personal choice we all make. We are all personally responsible for whatever choice we have made.
Each elder actively chooses for himself to support the molesting of children. Each elder that makes that choice lacks empathy, the primary trait of a sociopath.

They seem to be closer to sociopaths.
While only a minority are true sociopaths, the submissive majority can go along with any abuse & any injustice without remorse or concern for the well being of another. They are trained to be sociopathic in their thinking & enjoy the role. A person who cares more about the "two-witness rule" than for an abused, molested child has no empathy or conscience. It is frightening when you see how empty they really are.
I would suggest reading 'The Sociopath Next Door' by Martha Stout. Very interesting discussion about how becoming submissive to the rules blocks your conscience.

Get a dustcover from another book & read right next to her.
Tips:Tape the dustcover to the book (to prevent any accidents) and get a dustcover to a book boring enough she wont be interested in reading.
